Hello Friends,
Surprising as it may be the year is now almost over. Looking back on the first half the association has held many events for residents. I was able to speak with neighbors and document their responses to the latest events held.

National Night Out (NNO)
Residents gathered at Duran Park for Tampa’s National Night Out. NNO was formed in an effort to heighten awareness and strengthen participation in local anticrime efforts. Captain Roberts from Tampa Police Department took questions and concerns from residents.
It is imperative for the residents of Riverside Heights to understand law enforcement does appreciate neighbors that are involved in maintaining our neighborhood's low crime rate. We expect next year’s NNO attendance will be even better! Photo: Neighbors enjoy ice cream treats in Duran Park.

Sale Before the S.W.E.E.P.
Residents took advantage of the advertisement place in the Tampa Tribune as well as the website to sale items before the S.W.E.E. P. I surveyed the neighborhood and spoke to neighbors on how they were doing. Many indicated not only did they do well with the sale they also met some of their neighbors for the first time. I believe this will become an annual event based on the responses so prepare your 2009 calendars.

S.W.E.E.P.
The Solid Waste Enhanced Environment Program managed by the Solid Wastes Department came through Riverside Heights the weekend after the garage sales. Neighbor of only four weeks Hugo Thouverez assisted City of Tampa worker Jose Rivers with some of the debris.

As your President and neighbor I cannot emphasize enough the importance of residents’ participation. The sincerity of this neighborhood depends on you. Please become an active member of the association as a result you will be informed of major events affecting Riverside Heights.
Thank you,
